For reasons unbeknownst to me, I think of a 1950’s ditty called Baubles, Bangles, Bright Shining Beads when I look at this collection in small hands. Between chorus and verse, I ought provide commentary on the Aboriginal name for these little Pipis; Ugari. Or state that their presence along the north west foreshore of Coochiemudlo island is testament to the Bay’s water health. But no! Baubles, Bangles, Bright Shining Beads
