Blessings on Singing up Spririt of the Land

Welcome to Country is here being spoken by Uncle Bob Anderson at the opening of Singing Up Spirit of the Land. Raymond Walker eldest grandson of Oodgeroo of the Tribe Noonuccal reads his grandmothers poem Glad Tomorrow, blessing song and Garinga da Gana. He shares the translation. ‘The mining company Sibelco has stolen the footprints of my ancestors and with their departure in 2019 people will perform Wadama, will dance and sing and replace footprints of the ancestors and go where they have been forbidden by the foreign owned mining company” states Uncle Bob Anderson in 2019 audio recordings part of this exhibition.
